The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gilberto Barrera struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Franklin Quirós dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rolando Sobenis in the 13th minute of play forced Ailigandí's goalkeeper Franklin Quirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Franklin Quirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franklin De Paredes in the 15th minute of the match. Franklin Quirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toto Gutierrez, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute, Rolando Sobenis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Franklin Quirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rolando Sobenis in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franklin Quirós saved Ailigandí from getting behind. Gilberto Barrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th match minute, Ailigandí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolás Mendieta to maneuver through the defense. Franklin Quirós came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Tubualá F.C.'s Rolando Sobenis. But to his dismay, Rolando Sobenis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Gilberto Barrera might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Diaz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilberto Barrera ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Tubualá F.C.'s Nicolás Calderón got a free kick in the 37th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Ramos in the 47th minute of play forced Tubualá F.C.'s goalkeeper Ricardo Diaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Ailigandí players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tubualá F.C. were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lorenzo Ramos made a kick off. Ricardo Diaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Toto Gutierrez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Quirós having to interfere. Lorenzo Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Ricardo Diaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st match minute, Tubualá F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milton Moreno to maneuver through the defense. Gilberto Barrera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Diaz having to interfere. If Lorenzo Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Tubualá F.C.'s Reinaldo Mendieta got a free kick in the 65th minute. Franklin Quirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toto Gutierrez, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. If Rolando Sobenis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolando Sobenis struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Franklin Quirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tubualá F.C.. Ailigandí's Franklin Quirós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Ailigandí from getting a goal against them. Lorenzo Ramos might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Diaz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lorenzo Ramos ran back to his position shaking his head. If Rolando Sobenis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Tubualá F.C.'s goalkeeper Ricardo Diaz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Franklin Quirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toto Gutierrez in the 96th minute of play.
