Giancarlo Vergara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Trejos in the 16th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Sebastián Peralta kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leonidas Herrera. That made the score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. After 24 played minutes La Mitra got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Henríguez. If Max De Leon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 29 minutes, Emanuel Mora managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sioguí Arriba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Mora was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in La Mitra fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! Giancarlo Vergara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Mora in the 46th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Mora made a kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Julio Trejos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Giancarlo Vergara. La Mitra's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julio Trejos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julio Trejos got free with Giancarlo Vergara in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 61st minute, Cesar Mora hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute, Max De Leon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonidas Herrera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. If Emanuel Mora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. La Mitra's Giancarlo Vergara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save La Mitra from getting a goal against them. Giancarlo Carranza took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Giancarlo Vergara. La Mitra's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 75 minutes, Emanuel Mora managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind La Mitra's goalkeeper Giancarlo Vergara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
