With a little luck, Azuero's Emanuel Ortega got control of the ball when Lorenzo Gil tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Lorenzo Gil could shoot a difficult shot in the 6th minute, which Emanuel Ortega however easily saved by the left post. A hard shot 14 in the game by Lorenzo Gil from a close distance when the talented Emanuel Ortega managed to make a qualified save. Azuero's players were relieved. Emanuel Ortega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Henriguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Gilberto Pimentel kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Christian Henriguez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emanuel Ortega read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After 25 played minutes Tonosí F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Cedeño. Lorenzo Gil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rigoberto Pinilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Amaya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorge Escobar scored 0-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rigoberto Pinilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 43 minutes of play, Azuero's Cesar Morris made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rigoberto Pinilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Cesar Morris fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Azuero's protests and gave Cesar Morris a yellow card for diving instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Ivan Amaya made the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Azuero got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Calderón. In the 56th minute, Eloy Lao sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Azuero's Emanuel Ortega didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Escobar in the 58th minute of play forced Tonosí F.C.'s goalkeeper Rigoberto Pinilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomás Cedeño kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Christian Henriguez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Escobars short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Rigoberto Pinilla to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tomás Cedeño's late challenge caught a Azuero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomás Cedeño helped the player get up and apologised. In the 71st minute, Tomás Cedeño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Henriguez in the 75th minute of play forced Azuero's goalkeeper Emanuel Ortega to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Henriguez struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Emanuel Ortega didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tonosí F.C.. After 79 minutes, Cesar Nuñez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Azuero and the Tonosí F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee gave Tonosí F.C. a penalty, 81 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eloy Lao, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Azuero's Emanuel Ortega. 1-3. If Ivan Amaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Tonosí F.C. defense, Jorge Escobar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rigoberto Pinilla. The Tonosí F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rigoberto Pinilla should have stopped the shot. Rigoberto Pinilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Amaya, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The Azuero supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Azuero would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
