When Portobelo's Eloy Castillero, in the 5th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Portobelo. Sergio Diaz charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sergio Diaz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 9th minute Ivan Vergara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wiliam Lao saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivan Vergara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eloy Castillero struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Wiliam Lao didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portobelo. When Ivan Vergara came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Portobelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Vergara couldn't finish the play. Ivan Vergara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Wiliam Lao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ivan Vergara in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wiliam Lao prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Romel García had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Portobelo's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Nuñez came free, but Pedro Murillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Murillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romel García, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Sergio Nuñez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Divalá's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergio Nuñez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Murillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ivan Vergara came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Portobelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Vergara couldn't finish the play. Wiliam Lao made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Portobelo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Divalá had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
