In the 12th minute Fernando Amaya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Moscoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute, Fernando Amaya got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lorenzo Arias's late challenge caught a Santa Ana Arriba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lorenzo Arias helped the player get up and apologised. After 15 played minutes Nuevo Guararé F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Arias. Edgardo Calderón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Quirós in the 16th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Felix Osorio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Santa Ana Arriba booed when Nuevo Guararé F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Osorio didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Nuevo Guararé F.C. getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Emiliano Pinilla hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Amaya in the 34th minute of play forced Santa Ana Arriba's goalkeeper Juan Moscoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute, Javier Quirós left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santa Ana Arriba fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernando Amaya stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fernando Amaya's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juan Moscoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Felix Osorio notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Santa Ana Arriba's Juan Moscoso.
