The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tomás Pinilla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but David Villalobos made a huge save. Giancarlo Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. David Villalobos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hermes Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Río De Jesús's goal looked a bit too open when Alejandro Batista came free, but Juan Spadafora reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind La Tiza F.C.'s goalkeeper David Villalobos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, La Tiza F.C.'s David Villalobos got control of the ball when Tomás Pinilla tried to sneak it across the goal line. David Villalobos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giancarlo Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Giancarlo Castro to make the kick off. In the 55th minute Río De Jesús were awarded a corner. Ramón Moscoso went to the cornerflag to take it. If Giancarlo Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giancarlo Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Villalobos having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Tomás Pinilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Villalobos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giancarlo Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Río De Jesús's Juan Spadafora proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Río De Jesús from getting a goal against them. In the 76th minute, Andrés Mendoza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eduardo Ortiz was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 78th minute. La Tiza F.C.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The supporters of La Tiza F.C. booed when Río De Jesús was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrés Mendoza didn't get a good kick on the ball.
