One of El Cortezo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nuevo San Juan F.C.:s goal. When the match had been going on for 25 minutes, Nuevo San Juan F.C.'s Ulpiano Muñoz got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Julio Tello. Julio Tello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Tello in the 29th minute of play. With a little luck, El Cortezo's Julio Tello got control of the ball when Antonio García tried to sneak it across the goal line. Milton Aizprua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Martín De Diego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antonio García's late challenge caught a El Cortezo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antonio García helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of El Cortezo booed when Nuevo San Juan F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio García didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martín De Diego didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juan Palma went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 46th match minute, El Cortezo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milton Aizprua to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 47 in the game by Antonio García from a close distance when the talented Julio Tello managed to make a qualified save. El Cortezo's players were relieved. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antonio García made a kick off. After a rather tough play, El Cortezo's Alex Gil got a free kick in the 51st minute. After 56 played minutes Nuevo San Juan F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Heraclides Fernández. In the 58th minute of the match Alex Gil shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Martín De Diego showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio García in the 61st minute of play forced El Cortezo's goalkeeper Julio Tello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuevo San Juan F.C.'s Martín De Diego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Nuevo San Juan F.C. from getting a goal against them. Martín De Diego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Espino in the 66th minute of the match. A collision led to Nuevo San Juan F.C. getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Ulpiano Muñoz hit a great ball. Juan Palma scored 1-2 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martín De Diego, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Juan Palma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Tello stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antonio García's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. A collision led to Nuevo San Juan F.C. getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Pedro Navarro hit a great ball. In the 79th minute, Pedro Navarro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Nuevo San Juan F.C.'s José Villarreal got a free kick in the 87th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Nuevo San Juan F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luis Espino came free, but Martín De Diego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Tello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio García, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martín De Diego acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 93rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Giancarlo Caballero. When the final whistle sounded El Cortezo left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Nuevo San Juan F.C..
