When Rolando Zapata came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Mamitipo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rolando Zapata couldn't finish the play. Rolando Zapata took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jaime Murillo. Jaime Murillo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 11 minutes, Alejandro Aizprua mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Caño F.C. and the Mamitipo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th minute Rolando Zapata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Murillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cheito Barrera charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cheito Barrera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Mamitipo getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Cheito Barrera hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, Fabio Gutierrez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ramon Herbruger during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 17th minute, Ramon Herbruger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabio Gutierrez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Juan Arias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juan Arias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Henríguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Jorge Mora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute Jorge Mora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Murillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Murillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Mora in the 38th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Mamitipo's Jorge Mora sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jaime Murillo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fabio Gutierrez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Arias having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jose Henríguez was the one to do the kick off. Jorge Mora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Arias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Henríguez in the 61st minute of play. Mamitipo's Nicolás Jaen shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 62nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jaime Murillo but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Henríguez in the 63rd minute of play forced Mamitipo's goalkeeper Juan Arias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jorge Mora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the game, Nicolás Posam was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mamitipo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Caño F.C. the free kick. The supporters of El Caño F.C. booed when Mamitipo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolás Posam didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mamitipo's zone, Fabio Gutierrez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Arias came out of the goal and Fabio Gutierrez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jaime Murillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Mora, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. If Ramon Herbruger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute, Fabio Gutierrez made a precise shot to the right of Juan Arias. Mamitipo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 95 minutes into the match, El Caño F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Mora came free, but Jaime Murillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
