Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nicolás Mora started the match with the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexander Lozano got free with Totin Cedeño in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alexander Lozano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Totin Cedeño tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexander Lozano got free with Totin Cedeño in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Totin Cedeño was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Alberto Spadafora capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alberto Spadafora really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. When Andres Quiros came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Punta Peña F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andres Quiros couldn't finish the play. After 21 played minutes Canoa F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Cesar Gonzalez. Rigoberto González stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andres Quiros's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Totin Cedeño came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Canoa F.C.'s Alexander Lozano. But to his dismay, Alexander Lozano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Spadafora in the 29th minute of play forced Punta Peña F.C.'s goalkeeper Totin Cedeño to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Canoa F.C.'s Rigoberto González played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolás Mora in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of Punta Peña F.C. booed when Canoa F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heraclides Trejos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Totin Cedeño took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Spadafora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Canoa F.C.'s Alberto Spadafora ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Totin Cedeño. Totin Cedeño yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Alberto Spadafora managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canoa F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Spadafora was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Totin Cedeño breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alberto Spadafora made a kick off. Totin Cedeño showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Spadafora, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Rigoberto González showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolás Mora in the 56th minute of the match. A collision led to Canoa F.C. getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Heraclides Trejos hit a great ball. Humberto Murillo charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Humberto Murillo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Totin Cedeño showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Max Lao in the 60th minute of the match. Totin Cedeño took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Lozano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the game, Eloy Castro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Canoa F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Punta Peña F.C. the free kick. A collision led to Canoa F.C. getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Eloy Castro hit a great ball. Punta Peña F.C.'s Alberto Gil shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 71st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Rigoberto González but with some difficulty. Rigoberto González took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolás Mora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Gil was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 76 minutes into the match. 75 minutes into the game, one of Punta Peña F.C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 78th minute there was a penalty for Canoa F.C.. Max Lao stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Totin Cedeño. 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberto Spadafora in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Totin Cedeño saved Punta Peña F.C. from getting behind. The supporters of Punta Peña F.C. booed when Canoa F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Max Lao didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute Alberto Spadafora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Totin Cedeño saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Canoa F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
