Christian Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 6th minute, one of Metetí F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Metetí F.C.. The referee gave Isla Iguana a penalty, 8 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Javier Chavez, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Metetí F.C.'s Carlos Murillo. 1-0. The supporters of Isla Iguana booed when Metetí F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermes Pinilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Martín Agurto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hector Jaen's late challenge caught a Isla Iguana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hector Jaen helped the player get up and apologised. Hector Jaen kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Jorge Lozano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Carlos Murillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Murillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Agurto in the 22nd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Totin Castillo during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Totin Castillo hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute Isla Iguana were awarded a corner. Javier Chavez went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Isla Iguana's Javier Rios to fire away a dangerous shot which Carlos Murillo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jorge Lozano's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Carlos Murillo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jorge Lozano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Carlos Murillo made a huge save. After having played for 31 minutes, Martín Agurto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Isla Iguana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martín Agurto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute, Jorge Lozano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Giancarlo Villarreal in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Carrillo saved Isla Iguana from getting behind. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Giancarlo Villarreal made the kick off in the second half. Isla Iguana's Julio Carrillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giancarlo Villarreal in the 57th minute of play. 59 minutes in the game, Giancarlo Villarreal fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Julio Carrillo having to interfere. Julio Carrillo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christian Garcia in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martín Agurto in the 64th minute of play forced Metetí F.C.'s goalkeeper Carlos Murillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Lozano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Metetí F.C.'s Nicolás Aizprua got a free kick in the 71st minute. Carlos Murillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Lozano in the 72nd minute of the match. Isla Iguana's Martín Agurto got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Metetí F.C.'s Carlos Murillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martín Agurto in the 85th minute of play. A collision led to Isla Iguana getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Américo González hit a great ball. In the 91st minute Giancarlo Villarreal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Carrillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Murillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martín Agurto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Metetí F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Isla Iguana.
