After having played for 3 minutes, Miguel Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Puerto Armuelles F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Paredes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 5 minutes into the game, Wiliam Arias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Puerto Armuelles F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Metetí F.C. the free kick. The supporters of Metetí F.C. booed when Puerto Armuelles F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiliam Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christian Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Lorenzo Mora tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Metetí F.C.'s Giancarlo Villarreal got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Giancarlo Villarreal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Metetí F.C.'s Carlos Murillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Henriguez in the 22nd minute of play. Lorenzo Mora showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giancarlo Villarreal, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giancarlo Villarreal in the 35th minute of play forced Puerto Armuelles F.C.'s goalkeeper Lorenzo Mora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 43 minutes, Giancarlo Villarreal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Metetí F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Giancarlo Villarreal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Garcia got free with Lorenzo Mora in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luis Smith charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis Smith the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luis Smith kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christian Garcia in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lorenzo Mora prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 58 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Metetí F.C.'s Giancarlo Villarreal fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Julio Henriguez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Murillo having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Miguel Paredes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Puerto Armuelles F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 69th minute, Julio Henriguez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giancarlo Villarreal in the 72nd minute of play forced Puerto Armuelles F.C.'s goalkeeper Lorenzo Mora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Christian Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 75 played minutes Puerto Armuelles F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Luis Smith. Lorenzo Mora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Garcia in the 80th minute of the match. Lorenzo Mora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Garcia in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Henriguez in the 89th minute of play forced Metetí F.C.'s goalkeeper Carlos Murillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 90 minutes, Nicolás Aizprua mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Metetí F.C. and the Puerto Armuelles F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, one of Metetí F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Metetí F.C.. Carlos Murillo went to the wrong direction when Juan Smith was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Christian Garcia struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Lorenzo Mora didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Metetí F.C.. Giancarlo Villarreal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
