Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Isla Iguana's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Paredes came free, but Julio Carrillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jorge Lozano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julio Henriguez in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Carrillo saved Isla Iguana from getting behind. When Puerto Armuelles F.C.'s Luis Smith in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Isla Iguana's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Paredes in the 15th minute of play forced Isla Iguana's goalkeeper Julio Carrillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Puerto Armuelles F.C.'s goalkeeper Lorenzo Mora, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Isla Iguana's zone, Julio Henriguez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Carrillo came out of the goal and Julio Henriguez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Julio Henriguez sped through Isla Iguana's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Carrillo. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Miguel Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Puerto Armuelles F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Paredes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Carrillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Julio Henriguez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Henriguez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Carrillo having to interfere. In the 45thth minute of the game Miguel Paredes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Isla Iguana's Julio Carrillo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Puerto Armuelles F.C.'s goalkeeper Lorenzo Mora had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorge Lozano. Isla Iguana's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Javier Chavez in the 48th minute. After taking down the ball on Isla Iguana's corner Javier Chavez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lorenzo Mora quite easily take care of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martín Agurto was the one to do the kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Isla Iguana's goal looked a bit too open when Julio Henriguez came free, but Julio Carrillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wiliam Arias charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wiliam Arias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 65 played minutes Puerto Armuelles F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Wiliam Arias. After a defensive mix-up in Puerto Armuelles F.C.'s zone, Martín Agurto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lorenzo Mora came out of the goal and Martín Agurto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Jorge Lozano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lorenzo Mora was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Miguel Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Julio Carrillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Puerto Armuelles F.C. booed when Isla Iguana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Garcia De Paredes didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Isla Iguana getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Javier Rios hit a great ball. In the 80th minute, Puerto Armuelles F.C.'s Miguel Paredes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Carrillo. Julio Carrillo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Julio Carrillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio Henriguez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miguel Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Julio Carrillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 97 minutes, Luis Smith mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Puerto Armuelles F.C. and the Isla Iguana players grew even worse after the yellow card.
