The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Churuquita Grande F.C.'s Cesar Quiros got control of the ball when Felipe Pérez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cesar Quiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cesar Quiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Pérez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ivan Villalaz came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Churuquita Grande F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Villalaz couldn't finish the play. Edgardo Quirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Max Murillo's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Alanje F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! Felix Morales placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After having played for 42 minutes, Raul Espino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Churuquita Grande F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Raul Espino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Alanje F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Max Murillo came free, but Edgardo Quirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eduardo Smith stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ivan Villalaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Edgardo Quirós managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Churuquita Grande F.C.'s Ivan Villalaz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 80 minutes, Christian Pinilla mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Churuquita Grande F.C. and the Alanje F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Churuquita Grande F.C.'s Christian Pinilla got a free kick in the 81st minute. If Eduardo Smith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgardo Quirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Villalaz in the 83rd minute. Max Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Quirós having to interfere. Ivan Villalaz came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edgardo Quirós could save by the left post. Max Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgardo Quirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. Eduardo Smith blasted a shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cesar Quiros having to make a save.
