The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Zambrano Toria put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Sotomayor Careaga. A collision led to Cautivo getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Gómez Alvarado hit a great ball. A hard shot by Eugenio Sotelo from long distance, 12 minutes into the match, got Xoan Castruita's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Rodas Mazuca fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gulalag SC's protests and gave Rodas Mazuca a yellow card for diving instead. Rodas Mazuca kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the match Zuri Zugarrondo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sotomayor Careaga showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Xarles Barsi kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. If Vidal Alborza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot by Roque Artigue from long distance, 31 minutes into the match, got Xoan Castruita's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Rogerio Cerdeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Xoan Castruita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xoan Castruita made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Vidal Alborza sent off a good shot on target. Vidal Alborza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xoan Castruita having to interfere. Sotomayor Careaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trivniño Ubago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Zambrano Toria put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Sotomayor Careaga. Cautivo's Xoan Castruita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogerio Cerdeira in the 45th minute of play. If Rogerio Cerdeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Cautivo were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rogerio Cerdeira to make the kick off. 1-2 became the score in the 53rd minute when Vidal Alborza elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Gómez Alvarado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gómez Alvarado kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Xoan Castruita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogerio Cerdeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After a rather tough play, Cautivo's Felix Calzado got a free kick in the 68th minute. Xoan Castruita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vidal Alborza in the 71st minute of play. When Rogerio Cerdeira came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Gulalag SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogerio Cerdeira couldn't finish the play. In the 78th minute, Vidal Alborza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gulalag SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Zambrano Toria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sotomayor Careaga having to interfere. When Zambrano Toria came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Cautivo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zambrano Toria couldn't finish the play. Trivniño Ubago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Sotomayor Careaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zambrano Toria struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Sotomayor Careaga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cautivo.
