With a left leg Diego Maysonet saved Palobamba SC from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Xizavier Candano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pulisa's supporters rose to their feet, but Xizavier Candano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diego Maysonet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xizavier Candano in the 12th managed to get into a good position. In the 13th minute Xizavier Candano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Maysonet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernandez Granda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xusto Poncelas in the 22nd minute of play. In the 29th minute, Xizavier Candano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Humberto Zahonero kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 34th minute Xizavier Candano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Maysonet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Caicedo Manjaleguas came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Pulisa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caicedo Manjaleguas couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Pulisa's Armando Roqueñi got a free kick in the 38th minute. Marcelo Ferreiras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Fernandez Granda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelo Ferreiras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Pulisa getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Alfonso Eibar hit a great ball. Xizavier Candano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Maysonet having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xizavier Candano was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xusto Poncelas in the 56th minute of play forced Pulisa's goalkeeper Fernandez Granda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Trimiño hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Xusto Poncelas struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Fernandez Granda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palobamba SC. Marcelo Ferreiras in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fernandez Granda, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Xizavier Candano struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Diego Maysonet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pulisa. After a defensive mix-up in Palobamba SC's zone, Xizavier Candano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Maysonet came out of the goal and Xizavier Candano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diego Maysonet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caicedo Manjaleguas in the 76th minute of play. Caicedo Manjaleguas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Palobamba SC's zone, Caicedo Manjaleguas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Maysonet came out of the goal and Caicedo Manjaleguas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pulisa's goalkeeper Fernandez Granda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Pulisa players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
