The referee ignored CD Zhimbrue's protests and gave Geovanni Giribet a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to CD Zhimbrue getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Geovanni Giribet hit a great ball. CD Toguayuambi's Ximun Beteta got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 34th minute Xuan Othaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loco Cemborain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xuan Othaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Urtats Oteo came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the CD Toguayuambi fans jumped to their feet. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geovanni Giribet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. CD Toguayuambi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Urtats Oteo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. CD Zhimbrue's Loco Cemborain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xuan Othaz in the 95th minute of play. CD Toguayuambi's Ximun Beteta got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
