Martin Tacon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Cardeño read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. In the 17th minute Patricio Rabel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Obregón Huerta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xzaiver Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Paulo Cardeño tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Xzaiver Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Chinchinal's goalkeeper Paulo Cardeño, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paulo Cardeño took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xzaiver Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of CD Chinchinal booed when Emilia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urdin Vilanova didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Patricio Rabel to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, CD Chinchinal's Marco Madariaga got a free kick in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inocencio Sampil in the 62nd minute of play forced Emilia's goalkeeper Obregón Huerta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Emilia's Xzaiver Fonseca in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CD Chinchinal's goalie prevented a goal. Xzaiver Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Emilia's zone, Inocencio Sampil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Obregón Huerta came out of the goal and Inocencio Sampil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 77 minutes into the game, Patricio Rabel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CD Chinchinal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Emilia the free kick. A collision led to CD Chinchinal getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Patricio Rabel hit a great ball. After 78 minutes, Zeru Villayres mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Chinchinal and the Emilia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Martin Tacon struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Paulo Cardeño didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Emilia. Paulo Cardeño showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xzaiver Fonseca in the 81st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Xzaiver Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Emilia's supporters rose to their feet, but Xzaiver Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Cardeño breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulo Cardeño was a little too slow when Xzaiver Fonseca got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Emilia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
