In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind UD Ambatillo's goalkeeper Zeruko Mendia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Jandiayacu FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Ivan Rabago hit a great ball. After having played for 29 minutes, José-Manuel Cembrano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jandiayacu FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but José-Manuel Cembrano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José-Manuel Cembrano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. The referee ignored Jandiayacu FC's protests and gave Ivan Rabago a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th match minute, Jandiayacu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Rabago to maneuver through the defense. After 37 played minutes, UD Ambatillo's Demetrio Araico shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Walter Lainez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in UD Ambatillo reached it. If Ferrer Partarroyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, José-Manuel Cembrano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zeruko Mendia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ferrer Partarroyo went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Norberto Barreras was the one to do the kick off. Ferrer Partarroyo struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Zeruko Mendia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jandiayacu FC. Zeruko Mendia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferrer Partarroyo in the 54th minute of play. José-Manuel Cembrano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 58 minutes into the match, Jandiayacu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto Barreras came free, but Walter Lainez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Xaven Castells's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Walter Lainez was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. 74 minutes into the match, Jandiayacu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto Barreras came free, but Walter Lainez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeruko Mendia was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ferrer Partarroyo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 76 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ferrer Partarroyo in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zeruko Mendia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. UD Ambatillo's Zeruko Mendia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferrer Partarroyo in the 85th minute of play. Ferrer Partarroyo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 88 played minutes UD Ambatillo got a freekick which was hit by Paolo Casielles. In the 89th minute, José-Manuel Cembrano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ferrer Partarroyo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Walter Lainez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xaven Castells, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
