After having played for 4 minutes, Polo Aliprando managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pitishca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Polo Aliprando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Jairo Loayza came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Pitishca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jairo Loayza couldn't finish the play. If Rosario Huemen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute Alex Berar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chatruc Cadaval saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jairo Loayza got free in front of the goal in the 31st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Jose-Antonio Guedella was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When Rosario Huemen came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the UD Yapi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rosario Huemen couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Pitishca getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Velasco Arsuaga hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute Polo Aliprando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose-Antonio Guedella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alex Berar was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Polo Aliprando's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jose-Antonio Guedella was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Alex Berar managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Yapi's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Berar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chatruc Cadaval breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rosario Huemen got free with Chatruc Cadaval in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 66th minute, Rosario Huemen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pitishca's Polo Aliprando got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. UD Yapi's Jose-Antonio Guedella played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Polo Aliprando in the 82nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in UD Yapi's zone, Jairo Loayza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jose-Antonio Guedella came out of the goal and Jairo Loayza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rosario Huemen might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chatruc Cadaval. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rosario Huemen ran back to his position shaking his head. When Agustin Gonzalo fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pitishca's protests and gave Agustin Gonzalo a yellow card for diving instead. Rosario Huemen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chatruc Cadaval having to interfere. 97 minutes into the match, UD Yapi's goal looked a bit too open when Polo Aliprando came free, but Jose-Antonio Guedella reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chatruc Cadaval made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Berar in the 99th minute of play.
