Rodrigo Perero hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Leon Lozada might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antonio Sieira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leon Lozada ran back to his position shaking his head. 19 minutes into the game, Iyapamba FC's Ramos Balda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vedillo Sarandeses made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Antonio Sieira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Lozada in the 26th minute of play. Isaac Cedeno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antonio Sieira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. If Genaro Andinyach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ramos Balda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Vedillo Sarandeses tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isaac Cedeno could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Antonio Sieira made a huge save. In the 35th minute, Cauchiche's Leon Lozada dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Ramos Balda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ramos Balda made a kick off. Duarte Barriobero's late challenge caught a Cauchiche's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duarte Barriobero helped the player get up and apologised. After 53 played minutes Iyapamba FC got a freekick which was hit by Duarte Barriobero. Antonio Sieira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chucho Ursua, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Cauchiche's Vedillo Sarandeses proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Cauchiche from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Iyapamba FC's Ramos Balda got a free kick in the 66th minute. Iyapamba FC's Genaro Andinyach got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leon Lozada charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leon Lozada the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ramos Balda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isaac Cedeno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Sieira having to interfere.
