After 4 minutes of play, CD Gualayo's Ambrossi Alejandro made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jaramillo Rozano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nando Carranza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guagua Trelles during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jaramillo Rozano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nando Carranza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A nice corner shot did that Xuan Odoardo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Celso Lisundia quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Celso Lisundia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José-Manuel Limpias in the 19th minute of the match. If Zenon Babia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viche FC's Jaramillo Rozano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Viche FC from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José-Manuel Limpias in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celso Lisundia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If José-Manuel Limpias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José-Manuel Limpias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guagua Trelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Celso Lisundia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by José-Manuel Limpias in the 34th minute of play forced CD Gualayo's goalkeeper Celso Lisundia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Nando Carranza made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, one of Viche FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ambrossi Alejandro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jaramillo Rozano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Jaramillo Rozano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nando Carranza, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After having played for 66 minutes, Ambrossi Alejandro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Gualayo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ambrossi Alejandro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Viche FC's zone, Nando Carranza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaramillo Rozano came out of the goal and Nando Carranza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 76 minutes into the match, CD Gualayo's goal looked a bit too open when José-Manuel Limpias came free, but Celso Lisundia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José-Manuel Limpias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 86 minutes, Ambrossi Alejandro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Gualayo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ambrossi Alejandro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Rosero Trexo came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the CD Gualayo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rosero Trexo couldn't finish the play. In the 91st minute Nando Carranza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaramillo Rozano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 99th minute, Perlaza Balpuesta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. CD Gualayo had won after a very even match.
