Romero SC's Fernando Heces played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anangonó Alicea in the 9th minute of play. Fernando Heces made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anangonó Alicea in the 11th minute of play. When Roman Ruisuarez came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Sarama SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roman Ruisuarez couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Sarama SC booed when Romero SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sotomayor Mediavilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute of the match Parisi Altares sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernando Heces skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ismael Bobes during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 16 played minutes Romero SC got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Bobes. Anangonó Alicea charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anangonó Alicea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Anangonó Alicea kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernando Heces showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Romero SC's Justavino Prabes got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Romero SC's zone, Anangonó Alicea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Heces came out of the goal and Anangonó Alicea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 38 played minutes Sarama SC got a freekick which was hit by Roman Ruisuarez. Anangonó Alicea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Heces having to interfere. If Roman Ruisuarez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, Roman Ruisuarez notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Romero SC's Fernando Heces. Fernando Heces was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roman Ruisuarez to make the kick off.
