David Lesaca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute, Romulo Eugenio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, CD Pitayo's José-Francisco Zahonero tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 28 minutes into the game, Urtats Romero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lluzhapa SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CD Pitayo the free kick. In the 28th match minute, Lluzhapa SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urtats Romero to maneuver through the defense. Lluzhapa SC's Blanco Felpeto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Lesaca in the 31st minute of play. Flavio Morell charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flavio Morell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience held their breath when Patricio Ollacuria in the 38th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Blanco Felpeto's left hand side. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Lesaca made a kick off. With a little luck, Lluzhapa SC's Blanco Felpeto got control of the ball when Orlando Lluberas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lopez Canta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Maximiliano Tormes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lopez Canta struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Maximiliano Tormes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lluzhapa SC. After 66 minutes of play, Lluzhapa SC's Felix Valderas made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maximiliano Tormes was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Lopez Canta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romulo Eugenio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Orlando Lluberas managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Pitayo's supporters rose to their feet, but Orlando Lluberas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blanco Felpeto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Romulo Eugenio hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. CD Pitayo's José-Francisco Zahonero couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 85th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Lluzhapa SC. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Orlando Lluberas managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Pitayo's supporters rose to their feet, but Orlando Lluberas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blanco Felpeto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When David Lesaca came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the CD Pitayo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Lesaca couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lluzhapa SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while CD Pitayo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
