Mario Pubill stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jairo Ibio's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. The supporters of Hualo booed when CD Pongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Reoyo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lisandro Queipo in the 15th minute of play forced CD Pongo's goalkeeper Roque Sayago to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 minutes, Francisco Avellana made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. CD Pongo's Roque Sayago tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 20th minute, Carlos Muruve hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jairo Ibio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mario Pubill read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Hualo's zone, Jairo Ibio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mario Pubill came out of the goal and Jairo Ibio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Muruve during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Carlos Muruve kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Urtun Aristeguieta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Francisco Goiri hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. García Povia's late challenge caught a Hualo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. García Povia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th minute, García Povia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 47th minute, when Hualo's Zarando Cea after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Roque Sayago in CD Pongo's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 51 played minutes Hualo got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Pala. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Pongo's goalkeeper Roque Sayago, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jairo Ibio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Pubill having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, CD Pongo's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Avellana came free, but Roque Sayago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, CD Pongo's Ximenes Bucaran got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Hualo's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
