Espinal's Miguel Iza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victoro Pedroso in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to CD Aguacate getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Gerardo Zamora hit a great ball. In the 17th match minute, Espinal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonides Torralba to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of CD Aguacate booed when Espinal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Intriago Francia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 played minutes, CD Aguacate's Fabricio Mazarredo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Miguel Iza came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CD Aguacate reached it. When CD Aguacate's Gerardo Zamora in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of Espinal booed when CD Aguacate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramon Barbero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilmer Lavijo kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Espinal's goalkeeper Miguel Iza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 39th minute, Xulian Puellas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sánchez Zaldua stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilmer Lavijo's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Ximenes Sierra who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Sánchez Zaldua when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilmer Lavijo made a kick off. Miguel Iza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector PayµN in the 53rd minute of play. The supporters of CD Aguacate booed when Espinal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Torralba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hector PayµN sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th match minute, Espinal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier Cardet to maneuver through the defense. CD Aguacate's Victoro Pedroso got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilmer Lavijo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Sánchez Zaldua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector PayµN in the 74th minute of play forced Espinal's goalkeeper Miguel Iza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ximenes Sierra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victoro Pedrosos short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Miguel Iza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Espinal's Wilmer Lavijo got a free kick in the 85th minute. Hector PayµN might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Iza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hector PayµN ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 88th minute, Intriago Francia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
