The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cotera Terres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xzaver Brañas came out of the goal and Venceslas Dean tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xzaver Brañas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cotera Terres, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Venceslas Dean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Xzaver Brañas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jurupe FC's Palacios Teja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vigil Sagastia in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute Felix Vandoma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Palacios Teja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vigil Sagastia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Palacios Teja having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Felix Vandoma managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Guambena's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Vandoma was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Palacios Teja breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 24 minutes, Vigil Sagastia made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Palacios Teja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
