After 13 played minutes, CD Gigales's Ugutz Camazon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Augusto Sanles came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CD Gigales reached it. Gerardo Macho kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 15thth minute. Though ot was a great shot CD Gigales's keeper Virgilio Salomon was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. 18 minutes into the match, Pillacoto SC's goal looked a bit too open when Urtun Guera came free, but Augusto Sanles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Virgilio Salomon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José-Luis Ezquibela in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Zuñiga Gallarde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute, Ugutz Camazon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the match, Pillacoto SC's Zumar Quer broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. José-Luis Ezquibela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Pillacoto SC's Candelario Chicoime slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Virgilio Salomon. That made the score 1-0 after 29 minutes of play. The supporters of Pillacoto SC booed when CD Gigales was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neicer Anillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Virgilio Salomon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José-Luis Ezquibela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gerardo Macho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Urtun Guera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Sanles having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, CD Gigales was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pancho Bolide to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José-Luis Ezquibela stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gerardo Macho struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Virgilio Salomon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pillacoto SC. Virgilio Salomon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Macho in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute, José-Luis Ezquibela left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pillacoto SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by José-Luis Ezquibela in the 62nd minute of play forced CD Gigales's goalkeeper Virgilio Salomon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, CD Gigales's Leo Horbea got a free kick in the 67th minute. Gerardo Macho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgilio Salomon having to interfere. Urtun Guera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Augusto Sanles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, CD Gigales's Urtun Guera sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Augusto Sanles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Urtun Guera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Augusto Sanles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgilio Salomon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José-Luis Ezquibela's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. CD Gigales's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
