UD Uzhai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mendez Agustin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Quiñónez Espriella came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the UD Uzhai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Quiñónez Espriella couldn't finish the play. In the 28th minute, Gabriel Miranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 32 minutes into the game, Cotagchoa's Checa Depino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roman Lozares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 36 minutes, Ambrossi Rosser managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cotagchoa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ambrossi Rosser was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 39 minutes of play, Cotagchoa's Lastra Giralte made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roman Lozares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cotagchoa's Henry Moyeda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Cotagchoa from getting a goal against them. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Quiñónez Espriella was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mendez Agustin in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henry Moyeda saved Cotagchoa from getting behind. Checa Depino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Lozares having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Ambrossi Rosser managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cotagchoa's supporters rose to their feet, but Ambrossi Rosser was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roman Lozares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Checa Depino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Cevallos Barbanera took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Roman Lozares. UD Uzhai's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Checa Depino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodney Barbari during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
