Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Efrain Bernia kicked off to start the match. 9 minutes into the match, CD Chiguasa's goal looked a bit too open when Hurtado Bretal came free, but Maximo Picardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hurtado Bretal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 14 minutes into the game, UD Tiopamba's Efrain Bernia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maximo Picardo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Maximo Picardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Efrain Bernia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Efrain Bernia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Efrain Bernia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of UD Tiopamba booed when CD Chiguasa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavion Iruleta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Alexandro Ruedas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UD Tiopamba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandro Ruedas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Efrain Bernia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacobo Querendil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximo Picardo having to interfere. In the 45th minute Hurtado Bretal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximo Picardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. UD Tiopamba's Bohórquez Gainza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uzuri Osorio in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Uzuri Osorio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hurtado Bretal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Maximo Picardo made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in CD Chiguasa's zone, Hurtado Bretal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximo Picardo came out of the goal and Hurtado Bretal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Edgar Tul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 58 played minutes UD Tiopamba got a freekick which was hit by Lucio Ibias. After a rather tough play, CD Chiguasa's Vincent Portela got a free kick in the 61st minute. Efrain Bernia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Maximo Picardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in CD Chiguasa's zone, Hurtado Bretal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximo Picardo came out of the goal and Hurtado Bretal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vincent Portela during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of UD Tiopamba booed when CD Chiguasa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincent Portela didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Edgar Tul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the match, UD Tiopamba's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Tul came free, but Bohórquez Gainza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over UD Tiopamba could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than CD Chiguasa throughout the match.
