After a rather tough play, Anagumba's Jácome Cisneros got a free kick in the 45th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos-Alberto Argüero in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geovanni Robleda saved CD Zumbahua from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Jorge Cerrabe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geovanni Robleda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. When Perez Frecha came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Anagumba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Perez Frecha couldn't finish the play.
