The referee showed Alejandro Ahedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to UD Mechichi getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Alejandro Ahedo hit a great ball. In the 15th minute, Cotera Rotaetamorga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan-Angel Rucabado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angel Salsoro in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind UD Mechichi's goalkeeper Juan-Angel Rucabado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Angel Salsoro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. Chaquinal FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Juan-Angel Rucabado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Graziani Piciña in the 23rd minute. After 25 played minutes UD Mechichi got a freekick which was hit by Pavel Baranda. A collision led to Chaquinal FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Cristian Pas hit a great ball. Roberto Santoni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Sejomill in the 29th minute of the match. When Alfredo Arriola came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the UD Mechichi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredo Arriola couldn't finish the play. Graziani Piciña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan-Angel Rucabado having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Angel Salsoro made a kick off. In the 51st minute Angel Salsoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan-Angel Rucabado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Angel Salsoro in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan-Angel Rucabado saved UD Mechichi from getting behind. Roberto Santoni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredo Arriola in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute, Zarando Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute of the match Cristian Pas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juan-Angel Rucabado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Chaquinal FC booed when UD Mechichi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cotera Rotaetamorga didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 67 minutes, Angel Salsoro made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. UD Mechichi's Juan-Angel Rucabado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Chaquinal FC's zone, Emilio Sejomill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Santoni came out of the goal and Emilio Sejomill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfredo Arriola succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 74th playminute. If Emilio Sejomill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Arriola blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roberto Santoni having to make a save. Chaquinal FC's Roberto Santoni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Chaquinal FC from getting a goal against them. Juan-Angel Rucabado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angel Salsoro in the 95th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the UD Mechichi players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Chaquinal FC.
