Milagros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jua the free kick. Bustos Trigueros kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Jimmy Laguna took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dannes Landeribar. Milagros's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 7 minutes, Arévalo Suazo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arévalo Suazo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Vasco Madrazo came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Milagros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vasco Madrazo couldn't finish the play. With his leg Rios Briz managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Milagros's Vasco Madrazo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Vasco Madrazo struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Rios Briz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Milagros. Ximenes Cal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Rios Briz made a huge save. Ximenes Cal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rios Briz having to interfere. If Joffre Trevino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Ferrer Lavin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Milagros's zone, Joffre Trevino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dannes Landeribar came out of the goal and Joffre Trevino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, Joffre Trevino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dannes Landeribar. Milagros's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joffre Trevino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arévalo Suazo in the 48th minute of play forced Milagros's goalkeeper Dannes Landeribar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Rios Briz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vasco Madrazo's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Vasco Madrazo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Milagros's Vasco Madrazo got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bustos Trigueros struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Milagros's Dannes Landeribar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Milagros from getting a goal against them. Joffre Trevino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
