Zoilo Barreiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alberto Agulla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ataulfo Zambranos having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Guayusa's zone, Teodoro Guate stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ugutz Pipa came out of the goal and Teodoro Guate tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luis-Antonio Concellon charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis-Antonio Concellon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th minute, Luis-Antonio Concellon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute, Teodoro Guate got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zoilo Barreiros got free with Ugutz Pipa in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Udalaitz Jolis during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Udalaitz Jolis hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Alberto Agulla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ataulfo Zambranos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ataulfo Zambranos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Tercero in the 44th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After a rather tough play, CD Cachitama's Teodoro Irazu got a free kick in the 55th minute. During the 56th minute of the match Teodoro Irazu completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Teodoro Irazu a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Teodoro Irazu kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Ataulfo Zambranos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Agulla, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Ugutz Pipa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zoilo Barreiros in the 62nd minute of the match. CD Cachitama's Zoilo Barreiros got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alejandro Villarroel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Víctor Iglesia during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 70th minute, CD Cachitama's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Miguel Tercero fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Cachitama's goalkeeper Ataulfo Zambranos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Miguel Tercero kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ataulfo Zambranos. That made the score 0-1 in the 73 minute of play. Alberto Agulla struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Ataulfo Zambranos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guayusa. 81 minutes into the match, CD Cachitama's goalkeeper Ataulfo Zambranos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miguel Tercero. In the 83rd minute Zoilo Barreiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ugutz Pipa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute Alberto Agulla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ataulfo Zambranos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
