Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Maximo Esqueira took the kick off in the first half of the match. If Vladimiro Huelga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zacarias Arizabaleta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xencio Herias in the 6th minute of play. After having played for 7 minutes, Vladimiro Huelga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monterrey FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimiro Huelga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Xencio Herias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zacarias Arizabaleta was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Maximo Esqueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Marcelo Saez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 15 minutes, Xurxo Malsepica mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monterrey FC and the Quebele players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th minute there was a penalty for Quebele. Ximenez Sabugo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Marcelo Saez. 1-0. Marcelo Saez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximo Esqueira in the 20th minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Jaime Urria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcelo Saez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximo Esqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Michael Bonechea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 32 minutes into the match, Quebele's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimiro Huelga came free, but Zacarias Arizabaleta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xencio Herias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Jaime Urria fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quebele's protests and gave Jaime Urria a yellow card for diving instead. After 37 played minutes Quebele got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Urria. Maximo Esqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Vladimiro Huelga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monterrey FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xencio Herias made a kick off. Michael Bonechea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Quebele's goalkeeper Zacarias Arizabaleta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vladimiro Huelga. Maximo Esqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Saez having to interfere. Monterrey FC's Marcelo Saez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximo Esqueira in the 61st minute of play. Quebele's Michael Bonechea got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, Quebele's goal looked a bit too open when Xencio Herias came free, but Zacarias Arizabaleta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Monterrey FC's Juan Andolz got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Zacarias Arizabaleta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xencio Herias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 1-2 became the score in the 85th minute when Xencio Herias elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ximenez Sabugo, 96 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The Monterrey FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
