Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Urki Balanzuela kicked off to start the match. After having played for 5 minutes, Julian Oquerruri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Palobamba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julian Oquerruri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jesus Alcubilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mora Cevallos, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After 8 played minutes Borja got a freekick which was hit by Rodas Sisalde. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mora Cevallos in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jesus Alcubilla saved Borja from getting behind. Texeira Calva kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Mora Cevallos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Jesus Alcubilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Borja getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Pico Orense hit a great ball. Julian Oquerruri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesus Alcubilla having to interfere. Julian Oquerruri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Prus made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Lucio Helguera sent off a good shot on target. CD Palobamba's Paulo Prus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urki Balanzuela in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of CD Palobamba booed when Borja was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodas Sisalde didn't get a good kick on the ball. CD Palobamba's Julian Oquerruri got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The CD Palobamba fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when CD Palobamba's Mora Cevallos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half CD Palobamba were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Oquerruri to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Borja's zone, Julian Oquerruri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jesus Alcubilla came out of the goal and Julian Oquerruri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 55th minute by Mora Cevallos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 57th minute, Rodas Sisalde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jesus Alcubilla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Oquerruri's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Pico Orense hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Jesus Alcubilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Oquerruri, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 75 minutes into the match, Borja's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Oquerruri came free, but Jesus Alcubilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mora Cevallos was extremely unlucky when he, in the 76th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Paulo Prus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urki Balanzuela in the 79th minute of the match. Paulo Prus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urki Balanzuela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CD Palobamba's Paulo Prus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucio Helguera in the 84th minute of play. CD Palobamba's Carlos-Armando Alcain couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 86th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Borja. Julian Oquerruri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesus Alcubilla having to interfere. Mora Cevallos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched CD Palobamba eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
