Diaz Gallano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chucho Yunibarbia in the 5th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, CD Pijio's Paiva Hernaiz got a free kick in the 8th minute. Mariano Peñafiel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Diaz Gallano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ceiba's Mariano Peñafiel in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CD Pijio's goalie prevented a goal. CD Pijio's Oscar Antoñana got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Yépez Samamies charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yépez Samamies the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, CD Pijio's Yépez Samamies got a free kick in the 36th minute. Ceiba's Chucho Yunibarbia got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th match minute, CD Pijio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xuaco Mendi to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Chucho Yunibarbia made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Antoñana in the 53rd minute of play forced Ceiba's goalkeeper Marquez Somellera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oscar Antoñana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Urtats Ratra kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ceiba's zone, Fabio Poves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marquez Somellera came out of the goal and Fabio Poves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute, Urtats Ratra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 in the game Americo Arras was rewarded a free kick that was personally taken care of. Diaz Gallano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chucho Yunibarbia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paiva Hernaiz kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Oscar Antoñana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marquez Somellera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Marquez Somellera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Antoñana, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. CD Pijio's Oscar Antoñana got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Fabio Poves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fabio Poves fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CD Pijio's protests and gave Fabio Poves a yellow card for diving instead. Mariano Peñafiel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The CD Pijio fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ceiba had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
