Lucio Borrero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolas Laine having to interfere. Lucio Borrero hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Fernández Alonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fernández Alonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Faustino Abeijon managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Cunucyacu's supporters rose to their feet, but Faustino Abeijon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolas Laine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernández Alonso in the 22nd minute of play forced CD Achupallas's goalkeeper Nicolas Laine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicolas Laine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faustino Abeijon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lucio Borrero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Nicolas Laine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute Americo Canseco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Laine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Americo Canseco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicolas Laine was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

UD Cunucyacu's supporters rose to their feet, but Americo Canseco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolas Laine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute, UD Cunucyacu's Fernández Alonso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. José-Manuel Garrido recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fernández Alonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in CD Achupallas's zone, Lucio Borrero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolas Laine came out of the goal and Lucio Borrero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 86 minutes into the match, CD Achupallas's goalkeeper Nicolas Laine had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Faustino Abeijon. Fernández Alonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Nicolas Laine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Lucio Borrero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Americo Canseco in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicolas Laine prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 97th minute, Lucio Borrero made a precise shot to the right of Nicolas Laine. CD Achupallas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. The CD Achupallas fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. UD Cunucyacu were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
