Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 51st minute, Felix Larrategui left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The UD Cuchucun fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Ataulfo Tijera might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hernan Maneiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ataulfo Tijera ran back to his position shaking his head. The long shot by Félix Torrens in the 58th minute really tested Caicedo Criales's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nestor Mandelo during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nestor Mandelo hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Silvio Vitoria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yambaqui's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvio Vitoria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 68 minutes into the match, UD Cuchucun's goal looked a bit too open when Ferrer Iza came free, but Caicedo Criales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hernan Maneiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Larrategui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caicedo Criales was a little too slow when Ferrer Iza got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 2-2. If Silvio Vitoria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Yambaqui failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
