Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Oswaldo Tudela notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Club Sport Emelec's George Urdiales. George Urdiales was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 6 played minutes Club Sport Emelec got a freekick which was hit by Xan Barreto. George Urdiales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavica Mora in the 13th minute of play. George Urdiales took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Batista Piciña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gavica Mora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute Alex Mel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xurde Uquillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alex Mel struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Xurde Uquillas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Sport Emelec. Paiva Villagra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Sport Emelec's George Urdiales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gavica Mora in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Mel in the 29th minute of play forced Tabacay's goalkeeper Xurde Uquillas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ignacio Aroztegui hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Xurde Uquillas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Mel, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Xurde Uquillas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paiva Villagra in the 37th minute. A collision led to Club Sport Emelec getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Alex Mel hit a great ball. Batista Piciña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Urdiales having to interfere. George Urdiales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Batista Piciña in the 45th minute of the match. Paiva Villagra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Club Sport Emelec players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tabacay were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gavica Mora to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Mel in the 62nd minute of play forced Tabacay's goalkeeper Xurde Uquillas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Tabacay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carabalí Osaviaga to maneuver through the defense. In the 64thth minute of the game Paiva Villagra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tabacay's Xurde Uquillas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carabalí Osaviaga kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 69thth minute of the game Gavica Mora who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Sport Emelec's George Urdiales was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Tabacay's Oswaldo Tudela got a free kick in the 74th minute. If Batista Piciña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alex Mel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Batista Piciña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Urdiales having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Tabacay's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Mel came free, but Xurde Uquillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 85 minutes, Zayvius Golpe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Sport Emelec and the Tabacay players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some careless play in the Club Sport Emelec defense, Gavica Mora kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of George Urdiales. The Club Sport Emelec fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that George Urdiales should have stopped the shot. 92 minutes into the match, Club Sport Emelec's goalkeeper George Urdiales had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Batista Piciña. The Tabacay supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tabacay would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
