Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Alex Mels short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Zayveon Ferrer to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 17th minute, Urdin Zubizarrieta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, UD Cayapas's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Mel came free, but Zayveon Ferrer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Urre Brion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. George Urdiales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute Urre Brion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Urdiales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Club Sport Emelec's zone, Urre Brion stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. George Urdiales came out of the goal and Urre Brion tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the match, Paiva Villagra notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of UD Cayapas's Zayveon Ferrer. Zayveon Ferrer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. George Urdiales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubén Camison, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. When Alex Mel came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Club Sport Emelec fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Mel couldn't finish the play. Zeruko Marty's late challenge caught a Club Sport Emelec's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zeruko Marty helped the player get up and apologised. Urre Brion kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Paiva Villagra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Zayveon Ferrer made a huge save. An unexpected shot in the 48th minute by Paiva Villagra got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alex Mel to make the kick off. Rubén Camison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Urdiales having to interfere. In the 53rd minute, Zayvius Golpe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rubén Camison recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rubén Camison's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but George Urdiales read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. George Urdiales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubén Camison, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 64 minutes into the match, Club Sport Emelec's goal looked a bit too open when Rubén Camison came free, but George Urdiales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rubén Camison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Club Sport Emelec's Xan Barreto got a free kick in the 67th minute. Urre Brion might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over George Urdiales. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Urre Brion ran back to his position shaking his head. Rubén Camison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Urdiales having to interfere. Xorxe Marisancena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute, Rixon Reynoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paiva Villagra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zayveon Ferrer having to interfere. The supporters of Club Sport Emelec booed when UD Cayapas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zuñiga Beytia didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Sport Emelec fans cheered their team off the field, for while UD Cayapas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
