Rolando Cidiel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arévalo Pinos in the 4th minute of the match. 4 minutes into the game, Facundo Reyes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cerro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UD Naranjo the free kick. If Jairo Trasmiera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Diego Urive in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Cidiel saved Cerro from getting behind. 12 minutes into the match, Cerro's Víctor Hoa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Javier Aldasoro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cerro's attentive Zarbonin Val managed to snatch the ball when Mateo Villalaud made a throw-in in the 14th minute of the game. Javier Aldasoro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Víctor Hoa in the 15th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of UD Naranjo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cerro:s goal. Víctor Hoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Aldasoro having to interfere. Cerro's Víctor Hoa got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute, UD Naranjo's Paulo Malet seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Paulo Malet the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of UD Naranjo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Paulo Malet had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 37th minute, one of UD Naranjo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for UD Naranjo. The referee gave Cerro a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Víctor Hoa, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of UD Naranjo's Javier Aldasoro. 0-2. After some careless play in the Cerro defense, Jairo Trasmiera kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Cidiel. The Cerro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Cidiel should have stopped the shot. Alvarez Llantada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Aldasoro having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jairo Trasmiera to make the kick off. Victoriano Bolaños fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Aldasoro having to interfere. Víctor Hoa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Javier Aldasoro skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rolando Cidiel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Trasmiera in the 56th minute of play. Víctor Hoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Videl Barrallo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cerro's Rolando Cidiel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Trasmiera in the 68th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Jairo Trasmiera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jairo Trasmiera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Trasmiera in the 76th minute of play forced Cerro's goalkeeper Rolando Cidiel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Cerro's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Trasmiera came free, but Rolando Cidiel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, UD Naranjo's Jairo Trasmiera sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Cidiel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 84th minute, Jairo Trasmiera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Víctor Hoa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Javier Aldasoro made a huge save. 96 minutes into the match, Cerro's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Trasmiera came free, but Rolando Cidiel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The UD Naranjo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cerro were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
