The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ugutz Tudela struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Alvaro Marote didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cerezal SC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Segundo Villahoz during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a little luck, Cerezal SC's Navarro Olabarrieta got control of the ball when Marco Lopidana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chican's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Polo Bergada in the 17th minute. Polo Bergada made a great header on Chican's corner, it was just that Cerezal SC's Navarro Olabarrieta managed to reach the ball for a save. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Navarro Olabarrieta successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 25 played minutes Cerezal SC got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Turres. 26 minutes into the match, Polo Bergada sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Navarro Olabarrieta threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Polo Bergada this time. In the 28th minute Vermudo Badia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Navarro Olabarrieta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Navarro Olabarrieta managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Chican's Marco Lopidana fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Alvaro Marote showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elkin Espinar in the 39th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Chican's Navarro Olabarrieta threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vermudo Badia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Marco Lopidana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Navarro Olabarrieta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vermudo Badia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Marco Lopidana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vermudo Badia to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubarna Rioseras in the 54th minute of play forced Cerezal SC's goalkeeper Navarro Olabarrieta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Vermudo Badia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Navarro Olabarrieta. Cerezal SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vermudo Badia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The referee gave Segundo Villahoz a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.
