Mauro Pizarro charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. UD Chaquir's Jorge Viladrosa managed to work through Gramalote SC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Jorge Viladrosa dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Marco Coleira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Justavino Guardia went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The supporters of Gramalote SC booed when UD Chaquir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulizes Olivan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 50th minute of the match Gramalote SC got a corner. UD Chaquir's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Chalá Elenes ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Justavino Guardia was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to UD Chaquir getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Gerardo Peñaranda hit a great ball. Chalá Elenes, 59 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Tonio Lupidana hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Justavino Guardia might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marco Coleira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Americo Covielles hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Sergio Deleon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jaramillo Olivos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Marco Coleira was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Sergio Deleon managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Chaquir's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergio Deleon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaramillo Olivos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gramalote SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
