When Salvador Borines came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the CD Palermo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salvador Borines couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramirez Anguciana in the 19th minute of play forced Ayalan SC's goalkeeper Maximo Mariategui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute of the match CD Palermo got a corner. Ayalan SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Moreta Chave ran over to the corner to take the kick. Castillo Granda tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Maximo Mariategui. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-1 in the 21st minute. A collision led to CD Palermo getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Xusto Torcida hit a great ball. After 25 minutes, Intriago Pardo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ayalan SC and the CD Palermo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Intriago Pardo kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Valdo Araoz hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Ayalan SC's Juan-Pablo Cubas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 29th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for CD Palermo. Gilmar Santillan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Migolla in the 40th minute of play. German Picavea's late challenge caught a Ayalan SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. German Picavea helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st match minute, CD Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by German Picavea to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 42 minutes, Mario Migolla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ayalan SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mario Migolla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, CD Palermo's Gilmar Santillan got control of the ball when Vellito Payno tried to sneak it across the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Salvador Borines made a kick off. If Intriago Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. German Picavea hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Maximo Mariategui made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramirez Anguciana in the 62nd minute. Vellito Payno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gilmar Santillan having to make a save. If Vellito Payno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Salvador Borines fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximo Mariategui having to interfere. Vellito Payno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Gilmar Santillan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Vellito Payno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ayalan SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vellito Payno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilmar Santillan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maximo Mariategui took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvador Borines, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute, CD Palermo's Salvador Borines ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Maximo Mariategui. Maximo Mariategui yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Maximo Mariategui stood somewhat misplaced when Ramirez Anguciana came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 96 minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. CD Palermo had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
