Leon Parcero came out of the goal and Santiago Hompanera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Zarando Ruilopez sped through barcelona S.C's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leon Parcero. The crowd rose to their feet as William Tufiño kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Suárez Cieza. That made the score 1-1 in the 24 minute of play. In the 29th minute of the match barcelona S.C got a corner. CD Guayusa's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Krikorian Moreira ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Camacho Lossada took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Suárez Cieza to make any attempt to save it. Suárez Cieza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xamin Delgadillo in the 36th minute. Santiago Hompanera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Through an outstanding action, after 84 minutes, Leon Parcero successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by William Tufiño during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th minute, William Tufiño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
