With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mateo Caceo in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisco Chirino saved Liga de Quito from getting behind. Liga de Quito's Maximiliano Buedo got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maximiliano Buedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emilio Muños. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maximiliano Buedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Francisco Chirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xeromo Riopedre in the 15th minute of play. Francisco Chirino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mateo Caceo's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. When Maximiliano Buedo, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 19 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Emilio Muños was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 21 played minutes Habaspampa SC got a freekick which was hit by Sandro Capistrano. 22 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's Ubelteso Pascalin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Habaspampa SC's Barros Paris in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barros Paris couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute Mateo Caceo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Chirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Fortunato Ricote had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Maximiliano Buedo came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Liga de Quito fans jumped to their feet.
