Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sixto Ruisuarez took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Atletico de Madrid's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Villoria came free, but Roque Lezarreta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Atletico de Madrid getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Lorenzo Nocedo hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the game, Richard Villoria cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Roque Lezarreta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Zenaido Carillo came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Atletico de Madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zenaido Carillo couldn't finish the play. In the 30th match minute, Rancho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Villoria to maneuver through the defense. Roque Lezarreta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sixto Ruisuarez in the 35th minute of play. Rancho's Hector-Luis Cavero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zenaido Carillo in the 37th minute of play. The supporters of Atletico de Madrid booed when Rancho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixto Ruisuarez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hector-Luis Cavero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zenaido Carillo in the 43rd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zenaido Carillo was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Sixto Ruisuarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roque Lezarreta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Atletico de Madrid's Camilo Portera got a free kick in the 57th minute. Claudio Font hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Roque Lezarreta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sixto Ruisuarez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atletico de Madrid's Zelipe Ascot got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Richard Villoria got free with Roque Lezarreta in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roque Lezarreta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sixto Ruisuarez in the 82nd minute of play. Vellito Hondaro hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. When Edgardo Bratuti fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico de Madrid's protests and gave Edgardo Bratuti a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 96 minutes, Richard Villoria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rancho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Villoria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Rancho eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
