The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Solano FC. Xanti Oreamuno had in the 5thth minute some difficulties stopping Clemente Olaeta's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 6 played minutes Solano FC got a freekick which was hit by Henry Perero. Xanti Oreamuno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from España Encia, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CD Guajibamba! Justavino Maquiano shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After having played for 12 minutes, Mauricio Prat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Solano FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauricio Prat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 13th match minute, CD Guajibamba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregorio Barraza to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, CD Guajibamba's Fernandez Parga got a free kick in the 20th minute. Solano FC's Justavino Maquiano couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 21st minute. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Mauricio Prat made the kick off in the second half.
