Marlon Aeta might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marquez Amurrio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marlon Aeta ran back to his position shaking his head. 0-1 became the score in the 33rd minute when Kaviedes Astiategui elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Carlos-Alberto Nero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Candelario Labrada having to interfere. Colope SC's Candelario Labrada proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Colope SC from getting a goal against them. In the 48th minute, Marlon Aeta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Maciej Golaszewski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Candelario Labrada having to make a save. In the 92nd minute, Leandro Riguero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos-Alberto Nero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CS Emelec were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Colope SC to leave the ground with a draw.
