The ball had pretty good speed, but Marquez Amurrio firmly grabbed it by the left post. Marquez Amurrio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Borja Oteo in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Victorica in the 14th minute of play forced CS Emelec's goalkeeper Marquez Amurrio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marquez Amurrio made an important save on a dangerous shot by George Vianes in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Victorica in the 21st minute of play forced CS Emelec's goalkeeper Marquez Amurrio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, CS Emelec's Marquez Amurrio got control of the ball when Benjamin Victorica tried to sneak it across the goal line. Borja Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos-Alberto Nero in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute George Vianes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marquez Amurrio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, CS Emelec's Marquez Amurrio got control of the ball when Juan-Carlos Beyzania tried to sneak it across the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Francisco Laures notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of CS Emelec's Marquez Amurrio. Marquez Amurrio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marquez Amurrio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Borja Oteo, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Marquez Amurrio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Victorica in the 40th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Francisco Laures got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benjamin Victorica was the one to do the kick off. Benjamin Victorica scored 3-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marquez Amurrio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. CS Emelec's Marquez Amurrio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Laures in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos-Alberto Nero in the 60th minute of play forced Deportivo Gran Chaco's goalkeeper Borja Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. George Vianes kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After 66 minutes, Rodolfo Abello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CS Emelec and the Deportivo Gran Chaco players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 66 played minutes CS Emelec got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Abello. In the 68th minute, Zuriko Guixot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Borja Oteo took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marquez Amurrio. Marquez Amurrio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Borja Santos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maciej Golaszewski in the 76th minute. Benjamin Victorica fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquez Amurrio having to interfere. CS Emelec's Marquez Amurrio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Borja Oteo in the 83rd minute of play. After 85 minutes of play, Deportivo Gran Chaco's Borja Oteo made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marquez Amurrio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Francisco Laures fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquez Amurrio having to interfere. Borja Santos was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Carlos-Alberto Nero capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Carlos-Alberto Nero really showed his touch with that goal: 5-1. Deportivo Gran Chaco's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
